I applied the Alpha Grip Non-Slip paint on my 1-year-old concrete driveway to create a pickleball court. I first pressure washed the line areas and then acid-etched the areas. I used a taping machine to mask for the lines. I then applied the paint with a 3" roller, between the tape strips. I crippled the roller so that it would not roll to avoid a stippled effect. Be sure to mix the paint very thoroughly before applying and mix it regularly, as there is a lot of sediment in it to make it non-slip and it wants to settle to the bottom. I had a helper use a large kitchen soap bottle to squirt the paint onto the concrete just in advance of the roller operation. The roller leveled the paint very well. The paint dried within an hour, and we applied the second coat to achieve a perfect result. The painted lines have not been affected by our car tires driving and turning over them. I'm quite satisfied with the Alpha Grip product for this application.
I did a ton or research before I settled on this product. The reviews were consistent and basically sold me. I was hoping it was as easy and as good as they all said. I was not disappointed…The paint application was easy and it was obvious that it was good quality. The finished product is gorgeous and I feel safe with the amount or traction the sand provides on my court. As someone who never considered painting a sport court before, I know I made the right choice. ! pic is in progress and second is completed.
From the inception of painting a pickleball court myself to returning what I didn’t need, Slip Doctors was amazing. They helped me know what to order, gave technical advice as needed and graciously accepted a return. The concrete primer, court and striping paint are so easy to work with. Next summer I’ll repaint the tennis courts and will definitely use these products again.
Casey was very helpful and walked me through the process of lining out how much product I would need and got it shipped immediately. I highly recommend them.
