If you struggle with dusty and porous substrates, a floor primer is an excellent solution to ensure the optimum performance of any non-slip coating you want to apply. At SlipDoctors, we have the perfect solution for weak floor adhesion. Our Primer allows you to prepare both exterior and interior surfaces before adding any water-based and solvent-based paints and coatings.
A strong bond between the surface and coating on your floors is essential to ensure a longer-lasting finish, a more consistent color and sheen, and a smoother surface. Weak adhesion increases the possibility that your coverage won’t stick, which can lead to uneven surfaces and floors that corrode easily. Floor primers are designed to seal out moisture and anything that might weaken the bond between the surface and coating.
Priming is popular with home and business owners to guarantee longer life for floors and to avoid cover chipping. But there are many other benefits of using our Primer. SlipDoctors’ Primer is an epoxy primer paint that allows you to properly seal the substrate to the covering, preventing air bubbles from building up and leading to uneven surfaces.
SlipDoctors’ Primer is a great solution for weak floor adhesion on both interior and exterior surfaces. This product is designed to not affect the original look and feel of your surfaces and can be used on many different types of floors, including:
Surface Preparation
The surface must be clean, and free of dust, grease, wax, soap residue, peeling paint, mold, and mildew. The surface should be thoroughly degreased. Solvent wipe and/or detergent clean surfaces before application. Sandblast or wire-brush surfaces to remove rust, mill scale, or other hard-to-remove contaminants.
Primer Application Instructions
- Step 1: Always test a small area before full application.
- Step 2: Use a drill mixer or hand stir to thoroughly mix primer before applying. Stir occasionally during use. No thinning is required.
- Step 3: Apply with a 3/8 inch nap roller or spray with a paint gun or air sprayer. For the best results, one thin coat is recommended. The coating may be applied after 30-60 minutes or when tacky.
