ARMOR GRIP Black 2-Part Non-Skid Epoxy Truck Bed Liner and Floor Coating
- TWO PART EPOXY DURABILITY: Part A base and Part B hardener cross-link into a thermoset polymer, which holds up to abrasion, impact and heavy equipment far longer than a one-component bed liner paint.
- CHEMICAL RESISTANT: resists grease, oil, gasoline, salt water, alcohol and detergent, so fuel spills and washdown chemicals do not break the film down.
- HEAVY DUTY NON-SLIP: rubber texture is built into the coating and rolls out to a consistent semi-gloss black finish, giving traction across the whole surface rather than in patches.
- ONE COAT COVERAGE: a single kit mixes 4:1 and covers 120 to 180 sq ft, applied with a 4 inch honeycomb roller. No spray rig and no shop appointment.
- BACK IN SERVICE FAST: dry to touch in 8 hours at 75F, light traffic at 24 hours, heavy traffic at 72 hours, backed by a 2 year SlipDoctors traction warranty.
- 1 Gallon Kit covers 120 to 180 sq ft
ARMOR GRIP BLACK is a two-component anti-slip epoxy bed liner coating for truck beds, equipment platforms, loading docks and other working surfaces. You roll it on. It cures to a tough, textured, semi-gloss black finish that protects the substrate underneath and keeps cargo, feet and equipment from sliding. If you have been comparing a paint in bed liner against a professional sprayed liner, this is the roll on bed liner that closes most of the performance gap without the price or the downtime.
The difference is in the chemistry. Most DIY bed liner paint is a one-component product that dries by evaporation. Armor Grip is two parts. When the base and hardener are mixed they chemically cross-link into a thermoset polymer, and that higher cross-link density is what delivers the chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, adhesion and long-term durability. In practice it means grease, motor oil, gasoline, detergent, alcohol and salt water do not attack the coating the way they attack a single-component epoxy. It also means the coating survives the things that ruin cheap liners: toolboxes dropped in the bed, gravel, lumber dragged across the floor, and steel equipment or engines slid in and out.
Armor Grip is not just a truck bed product. The same coating is used on equipment platforms, loading docks, work boats and barges, marinas, marine areas, wet process areas and food processing areas. Anywhere a surface takes both traffic and contamination, the non-slip texture and the chemical resistance work together. It is built for commercial and industrial duty and is not recommended for residential application.
Application is straightforward but the prep matters. Surfaces must be clean, dry and structurally sound with all sealers, grease and oil removed. On a metal truck bed with tightly adhered paint and no rust, you can scuff with 80 to 100 grit, wipe with solvent and coat. If there is rust, pitting or bare metal, prime with SlipDoctors Base Coat first. Mix four parts base to one part hardener, pour a ribbon onto the surface and roll in one direction only. Over-rolling flattens the texture and reduces the non-skid. Pot life is 4 hours at 75F and the working temperature range is 50 to 120F.
- Mix 4:1 by volume. Mix four parts Part A Base to one part Part B Hardener with a 400-600 RPM explosion proof variable speed drill and Jiffy mixer.
- Both the Base and the Hardener must be agitated well prior to mixing. Use immediately after mixing. No induction time is needed. Thinning is not recommended.
- POT LIFE: @ 75°F 4 Hours
- NOTE: Slight color variations are possible between different lot numbers. We recommend mixing paint from different lot numbers together to achieve consistent color results.
- Do not apply until the surface has been properly prepared.
- Always apply a test patch for approval prior to application.
- If desired, primer surface and allow to cure before full application.
- ARMOR GRIP should be applied using a honeycomb roller or shed resistant roller.
- Immediately after mixing, pour a ribbon of ARMOR GRIP on to the surface.
- Do not over roll material as this can decrease the non-skid. Roll material only in one direction. Strike off any excessive material build-up on edges from roller lap. Spread rate is approximately 120-180 sq ft/gallon.
- Do not apply if surface temperature is within 5° of dew point.
- For safety and proper product curing, good ventilation is necessary when painting indoors or in confined areas. Be sure batch numbers are all the same to provide uniform color.
Clean spills, splatters, tools and other equipment promptly with mineral spirits or paint thinner.
MaintenanceFor ongoing cleaning and maintenance, regularly rinse and clean the surface using mild detergent and low-pressure water to help prevent dirt, debris, and contaminant buildup within the textured coating. Avoid harsh chemicals, standing water, and aggressive pressure washing, as prolonged exposure may contribute to premature wear or reduced coating performance over time.
Most automatic and hand car washes are acceptable; however, avoid harsh solvents, acidic cleaners, and excessively aggressive high-pressure washing directly against coating edges or damaged areas.
