How to Apply SlipDoctors' Non-Slip Stone Sealer

Before starting, thoroughly read the product label and Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for safety precautions, surface preparation, and full application instructions. Always wear recommended safety equipment.

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation varies by type, so review the TDS for detailed instructions. Ensure surface, air, and product temperatures are above 40°F (4°C) and at least 5°F (15°C) above the dew point. Clean the substrate thoroughly, removing dust, dirt, oil, grease, soap residue, wax, and flaking paint. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners. For best adhesion, lightly sand the surface with 400 grit sandpaper or etch with SlipDoctors Maintain Grip, then rinse and let it dry completely.

Application

Test the sealer in a small, inconspicuous area before full application. Pour the sealer into a separate container, stir thoroughly, and keep stirring during application to ensure consistent additive distribution. Apply two coats using a 3/8-inch nap roller, allowing the first coat to dry for 2-4 hours before applying the second coat at a right angle to the first. Additional coats can be applied for increased durability and traction, depending on the surface porosity. Allow 6-12 hours to cure for light traffic and 24 hours for normal traffic.

For cleanup, wash application equipment with soap and water while the sealer is still wet. For maintenance, use a pH-neutral cleaner and scrub lightly with a soft bristle deck brush or use a low-pressure rinse. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners.
